SOFIE CHANGES THE WAY TO THROW THINGS AWAY

One of the challenges that faced MM Design studio when tasked with designing a new trash can for the Brazilian company Tramontina was that of creating an object with a strong personality in a variety of colors in order to give it an aesthetic as well as functional value.

MM Design also went to great lengths to create something new and unusual: conceiving an opening that leaves users amazed and intrigued.

Pressing down on the pedal causes Sofie's entire steel cylinder to drop down, while at the same time lifting the hinged lid on the immobile part.

The interplay between the high-quality, elegant chromed steel and the pleasantly shaped semi-transparent colored plastic renders this the perfect combination of elements, making Sofie an item designed to adorn the home or office.
