5G robots that clean up the rivers
For some time, Singapore has been carrying out projects to explore the potential of 5G technology. Specifically, there are 7 projects supported by the city-state, for a total of over 70 million dollars of investment, through a foundation launched in 2021 by Infocomm Media Development Authority, aimed at accelerating the use of new technology. Among these, a first test will be started in August 2023 with hundreds of electric robots, which will have to inspect and clean the waters of rivers. The results could lead Singapore to extend the use of robots to the rest of the region as a viable alternative to oil boats.
Thanks to 5G technology, vehicles will be able to detect the presence of garbage and remove it through an internal mechanism, thus reducing carbon emissions by 80%. Moreover, electric robots will be used by the end of 2023 in projects where data collection is essential, for example for security surveillance or in the construction of electric cars for Hyundai.
Once again, Singapore stands out as the world’s technological leader, aiming at the integration of man-technology and the creation of new jobs.
