Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology
Innovation is key. From October 25th-28th Singapore has hold the seventh edition of SWITCH - Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology - the event dedicated to the Asian and international ecosystem of entrepreneurs, accelerators, investors and startups. After a two-year break, SWITCH has physically brought together more than 300 speakers and 250 exhibitors.
As stated by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat during the opening, Singapore remains a catalyst for cross-border collaborations, home to 29 unicorn startups and where investment in research and development will reach 19 billion dollars by 2025. Among the most anticipated programs of the event, SLINGSHOT Startup Pitching Competition is the competition for start-ups of technological sectors such as medical, consumer products, digital technologies, manufacturing and energy/environment.
Among the 50 selected start-ups, Peptobiotics has earned the first place in the ranking, a start-up in biotechnology that re-engineers anti-pathogen defense systems as livestock health products. Among the finalists there was also E3A, leader in smart devices for newborns, which through a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers and business experts redesigns obsolete or unattractive devices for new everyday uses.
