Design-empowered workforce and ubiquitous tokens
ROLE OF THE STATE IN DESIGN
Singapore needs a design-empowered workforce to apply design-led approaches to solve complex issues across sectors and meet future demands. This is the vision driving current trends in innovation and education. In the last years, several initiatives aimed to create a new culture of design in the Singaporean enterprises and have design young experts hired by companies in industries not related to design. The last program to be launched is the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for interior fit-out specialists. It will take in the first cohort by July and aims to place 70 trainees over the next two years.
MOST SUCCESSFUL PRODUCT
Lately in Singapore there is an object that one cannot do without. You need a TraceTogether Token to check-in specific locations where a spread between close contacts may occur (malls, offices…). The token is virtually the most seen item around, even if not so fashionable. The famous phone-wallet-keys needs to be updated and the token is part of your everyday outfit.
