SINGAPORE’S ARTSCIENCE MUSEUM CELEBRATION OF WOMEN
ArtScience Museum’s 2024 exhibition “Year of Extraordinary Women” will celebrate stories of women who have influenced society throughout the decades. It would feature three main exhibitions as its anchors, including something for Studio Ghibli fans to look forward to.
Dubbed as the Japanese animation powerhouse, “The World of Studio Ghibli” exhibition will be at the ArtScience Museum in October. Examining various diverse female characters through a humanist lens, visitors can expect to step into the enchanting worlds of iconic films like Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke through interactive theatrical sets.
In April and May respectively, “Goddess” and “Frida Kahlo: The Life of an icon” would headline.
Focusing on Asian screen sirens, “Goddess” would feature 120 years' worth of stories, sketches, interactive experiences, and cinematic treasures from silent cinema to contemporary films. On the other hand, Frida Kahlo is an iconic Mexican painter, known for her vibrant self-portraits. Visitors can expect a multi-sensory exhibition where they discover her perseverance and rebellion that made her a symbol of female empowerment.
