After a careful study on ergonomics, in addition to many tests conducted by Scott’s project managers, the designers of MM Design created an innovative shape which would allow for utmost comfort and safe grip.
The Project
Innovation and Style
The product’s real innovation lies in the lateral wings, which replace a small strap. The hand grip is ensured by two perforated elements that connect at the back of the hand and, in the case of accidental falls, enable the strap to detach rapidly.
This detail is advantageous for those who practice off-track skiing. If a sudden avalanche occurs, skiers are able to detach themselves rapidly from their poles, thus avoiding the risk of being buried under the snow. The product is also manufactured with dual component injected plastic, making it ideally stiff enough when in use, but also flexible and elastic in case of falls.
