In order to better use this tool in the work place, we studied and developed a product capable of storing the fibreglass or nylon cable feeder, which allows the operator to save time instead of having to roll it by hand.
In addition to formal and ergonomic aspects, the product was studied with a main concentration on the dynamics incurred while winding up the two types of feeder, which are totally different. The nylon feeder tends to roll up around a centre hub, while the fibreglass feeder exercises a tension which tends to push it out towards the external walls of the container.
Under the design aspect, the idea of a container-holder was emphasized, by developing two shells to protect the area holding the feeder. With its eye-catching, round shape, an easy-to-use concept is conveyed to the user. So, it’s a product which is not just technical but also very user-friendly. In fact, both right-handed and left-handed operators can use the product easily, as there are insertion holes with different angles based on the position of the hand holding the product.
